At Sommers Homes LLC, we approach building homes first and foremost with an eye for creative design, beauty and quality craftsmanship.
Sommers Homes LLC is a family owned and operated business located in the Northland since 2003, headed by brother and sister, Brian and Susan Sommers.
Brian, with hands-on experience in current construction practices, and Susan, with both degree and experience in design, work together to offer distinctive homes to our clients.
We find a creative joy in pulling together ideas on paper, quality craftsmen, and variety of building materials from unique sources to achieve award winning results.
At Sommers Homes, our task is to bring together the sometimes divergent worlds of design and construction.
We are constantly amazed at how much coordination is required to seamlessly blend creative design, unique building materials with standard construction practices.
So much of new home construction operates on ?cookie cutter? auto-pilot mode with little input from builders or designers.
We believe therefore that our close working relationship as a design-build team is essential to the whole process.
In fact, we take the design-build idea a step further to include unique sourcing and custom interior décor.
Yes, we can offer our clients complete design services, rare furnishings location along with quality construction.
Given such an approach, at Sommers Homes, our primary concern is not the business of production building a "standardized product".
We have never built the same house twice.
New ideas are pursued.
More unique building products are found.
But this does not mean our prices are at the high end of the market.
We continue to find ourselves on the lower end of per square foot spectrum for similar houses.
Because of continual shopping and a "hands on" approach, we can offer features and beauty in our homes that are not often found in the price range.
We put our own sweat and personal touch in each of our homes.
At Sommers Homes, our own design tastes are classic southern European.
Mediterranean front elevations, Italian scrolling iron work, classic Greco-Roman architectural trim work, country and formal French fabrics and furnishings, Italian plasters, and Tuscan tile work are all important features of our own design work.
We have, however, designed and built homes in shaker, mission, contemporary modern, and country for our various clients.
